OUR MUSIC — Awakening In Song From Around The World

Song birds, awaken!
Buddhists chant in the morning to bring themselves closer to enlightenment. Hindus chant in the morning for blessings for their day.
Christians sing matins to affirm their relationship with God, ask for mercy, and remember.
Before rising, Jews sing Modeh Ani, a prayer of thanks for the restoration of their soul. Native Americans sing upon waking to reconnect with the Great Spirit. Muslims chant the Fajir between dawn and sunrise to praise and receive Allah’s protection. Pagans honour the circle of life by singing to the rising sun.
It was once believed we have a finite number of brain cells and once they die, they’re gone. Birds, the inspired voices of morning, annually regenerate brain cells so they can learn new tunes.
Each April Sunday morning, we will learn and sing songs of awakening from around the world.
